First and foremost, I am a student…a seeker. Having said this, I share (teach) what I can and with whomever is also seeking. This never-ending quest for knowledge and wisdom is surely the impetus behind countless certifications, various degrees and a library filled with books still to be read.
ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL
I have carried many professional titles, most often in the marketing support and communications realm. I have considered myself a Communication Specialist. Now, Minister and Teacher is a better fit. I am both an Interfaith and Religious Science Minister. My approach to open communication and acceptance of all spiritually-based belief systems allows me (and others) to come together from different faiths and religious backgrounds in an atmosphere of celebration (for the similarities) and respect (of the differences). We do this in classes, workshops, and through community support and outreach. The people and their ideas are vast; there is so much to learn and share.
ON A PERSONAL LEVEL
I have been happily married for more than 15 years. While this is not my first marriage, it is destined to be my last. I couldn’t imagine a better life partner than I have with Mike.
After years in the corporate world, I became the Senior Minister at a local church in 2010; it is definitely my career of choice (massage comes in second now). What an opportunity to utilize ALL my skills and learn more every day. ( http://www.ParkerCCRS.org ) The rest of life fits in as it will. I’m getting better at balance… though I do enjoy working.
Our blended family includes five adult children (three are married) – all self-sufficient – three granddaughters and a young grandson. These days I enjoy my limited “free” time connecting with people wherever I am, writing/blogging articles, teaching spiritually-based classes, and learning new technical skills on my computer, smart phone or Kindle. Yes, I could be considered a bit of a geek – and I’m okay with that.
All of this describes what the world sees of me from day to day… minister, employee, entrepreneur, wife, mother, grandmother, friend. My writings, through this blog, however, will reveal the deeper version of who I am. And the adventure continues!
